crashed my civic..
I was coming home from a party about 30 minutes away from my house. I was the DD so i didnt drink at all. I got to my exit, took it off. At the bottom of the exit you can either go straight or right, if you go right theres a yield. There was a 4runner in front of me, and it looked like he was just gonna go, so i look to my left to see if theres any cars coming, then all of a sudden BOOM i dont really remember it but i saw my car go under his. My mind immediately goes blank, and im thinking what the hell did i just do..
i get out and see this
vis carbon fiber hood ruined, corner/headlight ruined, fender ruined, hood latch most likely bent, bent around where right fender meets frame i guess, where the rubber thing that sucks up is.. im not sure what you want to call it. There was also radiator fluid around the radiator, radiator support bent.
We were both ok, it just sucks. My car just got outa the shop a couple days ago and now its going back in. Also, i have liability.. so im pretty much screwed there too.. but it couldve been a lot worse. My car is bad luck, within the last couple months i have gotten a ticket for yellow headlights, gotten stolen, and now a crash. Goodnight

Good thing everyones all right. Could have been a lot worse with the car and with the health of the occupants of the vehicle. Just the above posters stated..just get a few replacement parts and you should be fine.

that isn't too bad...thought you totalled it out or something....but you know, it was pretty much your fault...you can tell him to file it...unless you guys didn't call a trooper/cop there to enter the report...just pay your deductible from your insurance and just have them fix it...your insurance might go up...who knows....but gl...

I'm not sure I understand your Q. Are you asking if there is a statue of limitations for the other guy? I'm not sure about that.
Are you asking for you so that you can upgrade to full coverage and then make the claim? If so, you can't since they come check the car out before doing so, and photograph and note any damage currently on the car.

im asking if the guy has a certain amount of time for him to claim it, because if he doesnt claim it, then i wont go through insurance cause i dont want my insurance to go up. I dont want to be waiting forever for him to claim it though.

well unless he is there just visiting i would still think he would call them and tell them what happend and then when he got back they would look at his truck. so im sure that you would still hear something sometime soon. just mabey wait two weeks tops and if nothing, i would think you should be ok

i didnt see anything wrong with it, i went under it.. maybe the bottom of his bumper was messed up a little bit.
So there is no law/rule saying how long you have to submit a claim?
