Default Crankshaft question

Im putting my vitara setup together. Rebuilding my 200k mile z6, all the machine shop is doing is giving the .003 p2w clearance i specified, and notching the block and cleaning it. They asked if i wanted the crank turned, i told them to hold off. Now its starting to worry me, i want this motor to be a reliable 300whp dd and id hate to leave out the crank. I asked them how they "turn/true" them, they said they weigh the pistons and crank and turn it to zero it or something. I thought though for 4 cyl without balance shafts that you just need the crank to turn/true it, and by trueing it your taking out vibrations the crank would produce at a certain rpm? Does this shop sound like they're doing this the correct way, and do ya'll think it needs to be trued? (This shop mainly deals with v8's, when they seen my motor they said "is that your block?" probably b/c i was carying it myself)

Man, I almost put this quote into my sig, pretty funny.

If I was going to put together a 300hp D motor, I sure as hell would make sure that the rotating assembly was balanced. I can't tell by your description if that shop is good or if they know what they're doing when it comes to 4-bangers.

dude, all the machine shop is saying is that "he will TURN" the crank and balance it. Yes you need this to be done. Engine work and build is exactly what it is, work/building.....if they are a good machine shop then you have nothing to worry about.

They asked if i wanted it done, im biulding it, they're ust boring, and guess now balancing the crank. The way she described sounded sketchy and the fact they specialize mainly in v8's which are quite different.
