crank pulley chatter?

i am having a chatter noise that sounds low like the serpintine crank pulley... when i rev the motor the pulley moves away from the motor about an 1/16 of an inch...
i can also move the pulley with a flat head screw driver about an 1/8th of an inch using the a/c pulley as leverage...

is it supposed to move?

the chattering sounded like a water pump, and i stumbled across the crank pulley movement while looking for the source of the noise.

i feel like it is the pulley moving separate from the crank.. but i am
not sure... but the bottom gear for the timing belt is not moving out with it

ok i removed the crank bolt and the pulley...

the crank key was gone...

the pulley was ground out to the point you could hardly tell there was a
key way there... and the crank's key-way was larger on the end and got
smaller towards the engine... like a trapezoid.. not a rectangle...

Yeah this has happened to me..

I thought my water pump was going out and it's the pulley that my AC belt goes on..

I had to tighten it up but yet it still keeps doing it sometimes..

goodluck!

same thing happened to me i recommend that u do not keep driving with the crank pulley like that i kept driving and eventually the key chewed up the crank and the pulley
