Default Crank Angle Sensor on the D16y8's

My friends car was stolen, and they fucked his motor up so I put my motor up for him which is a 92 D16z6 motor . . . he just needed something to get his car running becuase he drives his car for work. I noticed that the y8 motors have a crank angle sensor and the z6 blocks don't. Will his car run without having that connected?

Is there anyway around this and if so what would it be? The motor is going into a 2000 Civic EX Coupe. He is aware that the motor is from an older car, but since we live in Hawaii and there isn't really any other source or transportation besides a car that is why we are swapping the motor.

PM me or IM me on AIM with any and all info . . . . thanks in advance

Will the car start or run normally without the crank angle sensor connected?

OBD1 will not require a Knock...

OBDII will look for it, and you will get CEL without it.

yeah we told him that he will get a CEL light he doesn't care, he just needs his car, but someone told me that the car will prob. not start if it's missing the crank position sensor . . . is that true or false?

I have a friend in the same situation identically to this. I am going over there to take off the crank pulleys to compare. What on the Y8 does the crank angle sensor read off of?
