Default Craigslist D16Z6 - blue smoke

I bought a D16Z6 for my 94 Civic DX off craigslist just before winter got way to cold to this winter to be in the garage even with the heater so I jumped on it as soon as we got into the 20s got it all in fluids filled drove it about 3 to 4 miles and there was a cloud of smoke behind me Bluish oil smoke now this is the 2nd bad motor 1st had a rod knock just having no luck with this dx
So should I pull this motor or part out this car since I just bought a 97 Civic Hatch that is super clean.

A lot depends on just how many parts you need in total.

Overall this might give you a basic idea. Usually don't need every single bearing my Honda Tech friend once told me because he claimed Honda Bearings last forever. So I assume you only replace ones showing copper.

Once again, they are roughly $10 each, and once again, you need to make sure they are the correct size. You also need the thrust bearing set. You need two, but thankfully there are two per pack, so you only have to order one pack. Also, thankfully, you don't have to worry about sizing with the thrust bearings - they only come in one size.
The rings will be about 120 bucks for a full set and then at least 20 bucks for a bearing set... Will depend on just how many bearings you have to replace.

Then of course all the gaskets you feel need replacing.

This should give you a rough idea of what you are looking at.

This doesn't take into account any machine shop work such as the hone or head checks etc etc.

I ordered up a set of feeler gauges last night, but couldn't find a machinist straight edge. The 1st motor I pulled didn't smoke at all but it a horrible knock so I think I will start w/ getting that motor on to a stand and flipping it to see if I can change out the bad bearing. No wait, At the same time I was getting a lot of oil spray out of the dipstick tube. Any idea what would cause that?

If you're dropping the crank, you should replace all of the bearings, always. Bearings are one of those things that you should never re-use. Oil spraying out of the dipstick tube could be caused by too much oil (which would cause a spun bearing), or it could be caused by a spun bearing ******* up the oil pressure.

If that was me I would drive the engine until it stops driving, and then swap it out or rebuild it.

if its a 2 door stick dx I would like to have it.
