cracked rings? quickest way to fix??
so my oil line broke and the car ran on low oil. so apparently is crack eiter teh ring or ring lands in cylinder number 2.
it has a bunch of blow by and poor compression test results.
so should i buy a new bottom end off some stranger or buy new rings? not know if its just the rings. also if i take the rod out can i re use the bearings? what are the chances of the cylinder walls being scored?

tear the engine apart first and see. if there isn't any damage to the cylinder wall its not hard to hone the cylinder and put new rings in.
and yes you can reuse the rod bearing once its taken out, just make sure its torqued down to factory spec.

check for any damage on the cylinder walls,if there is damage you might as well buy a bottom end from someone. Boring isnt cheap and on top of that youll have to order new rings. i would also check your rods for any damage. You dont have to replace rod bearings but it is suggested.
