I have a cracked front lip that I got from my friend. I believe it is made of fibreglass. the crack is located in the center. is there a way of repairing the cracked area and re-inforcing the whole lip so it has more strength?

I have fibreglass cloth, fibreglass resin and hardener, would that work??

this is the ctr style front lip for the 96-98 civic.

yea jsut refiberglass it.. if you want to make it stronger fiberglass some metal in there..

make sure you're certain it's fiber glass... otherwise you're wasting time trying to fiber glass it.

yup, confirmed it was fibreglass.

so i would just sand the bottom part of the lip cut strans of fibreglass strans and start applying the fibreglass resin and hardener on and dry???

I'd put a piece of metal on the backside and fiberglass over it to help make it stronger.

yeah just get some chicken wire and form that to the inside then fiberglass over it and let it dry. it will help alot.

or maybe just spend some extra money, save some time and work and purchase a new one... they usually go for about $30 - $45 for the fiber. or plastic ctr lips

but then you have no fun in it, Do the work yourself you'll appreciate it more.

yep seen that one coming... i agree totally to that. though i would puchase a new one, i would take the time to sand, prime, sand again, prime, wetsand, and paint clear and do all that stuff to make it nice and clean. counts as doing work myself right?
