couple of quick q's about car specs

couple of quick questions:

I found out my car is canadian. its a 1993 Civic Si. i was looking around google trying to find the thread with specs on it, but to no avail. if anybody has that, id love to have it. but past that, does anyone know if the candian Si's were any different than american?

and does anyone have the thread with the stock car wights for civics in it?

thanks!!! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

It's got a D16Z6, 1.6L SOHC VTEC
127hp at the crank
power moonroof, steering

What else do you need to know?

And how do you know it's Canadian? Does the spedometer read in KMs or miles?

i knew this was going to be an issue, just forgot to correct it...

the motor is the JDM B16A. the specs im looking for are for the chassis itself. namely weight. its my fault for not specifying.

as far as the canadian thing, under the hood, theres a few stickers here and there that state that the car was sold in canada. if anyone has a carfax open, id appreciate a record check.

thanks

Most of them where built in Canada and shipped in to the states. I think this is what you are looking for. That car should have come stock with the d16z6

http://www.civichatch.com/info/index.php

You should be able to find most of where it was sold on the title if you have it

ah. thanks. thats what i was looking for. ish.

the motor was a swap. dont know if the tranny from the JDM motor came with it, but then again, im no mechanic. im doing good to know what i do. but thanks anyway.

as far as the Canadian thing. there are sale stickers and such under the hood. I dont know if that changes anything as far as productions specs, but i was interested so that it was in fact sold in Canada.

maybe im confused, maybe they dont mean a thing. who knows. at any rate, if this makes a diff, id like to know.

thanks for the info

Most North American civics were manufactured in Canada. Everyone has those same stickers (I'm assuming you're talking about the one on the rad support?)

Hope this helps.

If you want to find weights of cars, go to cars.com, click research at the top and follow through with your cars info. then it will give you all sorts of specs on the car.

How are you finding the transition to honda from your old VW?

Re: (andoxviii)

eventful. to say the least. One of my good friends works full time as a honda mechanic in his dads garage, so i have plenty of help. so far, all of the maintenance im scheduling to do would be around triple on a VW. The VW scene (at least MkII and back) were a lot more die hard. The JDM scene hasnt got anything on those guys. and the motor swap scene started waaaay before the honda one. So, the sense of brotherhood was much stronger in the VW. But EVERYONE has been much nicer and much more helpful than VW.

The car itseld is a blast to drive. i bought it already decently modded, so its pretty fun. And its nice to be able to brag and say that i have a JDM motor to the local monkeys. It needs some love, a new paintjob, and a good tune, but after that, i think i have a car that i can be very happy with till the motor/tranny flat gives out.

HONDA FOR LIFE. JDM till it dies.woot

ps. if anyone has a link that shows how to remove the ECU, id appreciate it. I have it from a reputable source that mine is chipped or something and id at least like to be able to see if the seal is broken. thanks!

I think the ECU on those cars is in the passenger side kick panel.

with a motor swap your car isnt going to wiegh what it weighed stock find a dump near you with a scale and weight the car with you and however much gas you would go racing with in the car, that is the weight that is most useful

you don't need a scale at a dump to find out stock specs on a car, which is what was requested.
