Default Couple of Questions from a Newbie!!!

S'up? I just picked up a 98 Civic DX HB this past Tuesday and eventually plan to swap in a B16A by next summer. All I can say is this car is alot of fun to drive. Before this car I used to own a 90 Cavalier Z24 and got rid of it cause it was causing me too many problems.

I've had my 98 EK for less than a week now and the only thing I've done so far is add a Pioneer DEH-P7400 deck. It retails in Canada for $599.99 but I got it for $444.16 installed! It's nice to have a friend that works at Future Shop! Anyways....the next thing I wanted to do was get my mouldings, skirts, handles, mirrors, and license plate area painted to match the rest of the car.

I finally found a place that will do it for a reasonable price ($300) but that's if I remove all the pieces myself otherwise according to their gorilla math it'll be $600 if they have to remove all the ****.

My question is this. How do I remove the handles, mirrors, skirts, mouldings, and license plate area? Basically...how do I remove everything I want painted?!! I know the mouldings are held in place by clips and I'm assuming I'll have to take off my wheels to get to the skirts.

Anyways...I appreciate the help!!! Thanks in advance!

handles, bolted in from inside of door. have to remove panel from inside to get to this one.

mirrors, bolted in from inside. have to remove covers inside door to get to those.

skirts, bolted on. have to crawl under to car to unbolt these.

mouldings, clipped, possibly bolted to the car inside door jam. open the door and check for bolts/nuts.

license panel, bolted on. remove panel inside trunk to get to these.

Yah that's some real good advice!!

I definetly appreciate it! I went out and looked at my car after I posted this question and it doesn't seem hard at all. Only thing that might be hard is getting the skirts off. Gonna have to see if I can borrow some jack stands from a friend or something!

Thanks for the help!!

to take off the moldings, i had to take of like 4 interior panels ( like the Helms manual says). Whem o changed all the black junk to sillver on my car, i just bought new parts from a civic EX, and got the side skirts from sum web site, sure it cost more but im sure its an exact color match and that the paint will last
