Couple of exhaust questions for my 98 dx hatch
So I'd like to get a header and b-pipe, and keep the stock muffler. Easy enough, but I would like to keep the cat on there. Now I know I cant keep the cat I have with a header cause of its location now. Is there any parts combo out there that I can just bolt right up? This may be difficult, but i dont want to spend an ASSLOAD of money. I mean im expecting to spend a bit. Any useful info is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Man, all these views and no replies, Has anyone done this before? Im sure i might need to weld an oem flange on the b-pipe for the oem muffler, but how bout the cat issue?

Re: (ek gripper)
Your gonna kill your exhaust flow using a stock muffler. The whole point of getting an aftermarket exhaust is to provide more airflow. Just buy a ES oval muffler in black. It will appear stock.

Re: (ek gripper)
so whats your question?? you want to get headers and a b pipe and keep the stock cat and muff.
First of all---your stock cat tottally defeats the purpose of doing an aftermarket exhaust. You will need a high flow cat to make any kind of differnce.
Either do a full exhaust, or leave the stock one alone. Cause it'd be a waiste of money of you went through with your idea.

Re: (Eran)
rite now im running a test pipe, neuspeed header, and 2.25 b pipe to stock muffler and rite now the muffler a very annoying tingy sound when i hit the gas and it gets to about 3k it so i assume you would most likely get the same results. just to give you an idea of what type to sound you can expect with the setup you want

I'm running a DC sports 4-2-1, into my stock exhaust with no cat, 1 resonator and 1 stock muffler. It sounds like ***, but a hell of alot cheaper than OEM replacement!
