could use a bit of help/advice
my 95 is making a grinding noise on what seems like drivers side. i think it may be wheel bearing or worse i fear something wrong with tranny. so here is the deal it does not seem to make the noise all the time. early morning for about 10-20 miles it will not do it. after that it comes and goes with the noise being more pronounced under low acceleration or deceleration. some times just letting of gas and then accelerating harder will cause noise to go away. recently in last couple days it has started to cause a vibration that can be felt in floor and gas petal on drivers side. any advice and help would be greatly appreciated on this. Since i plan to just go out and replace tranny this weekend to try and fix it.

Re: could use a bit of help/advice
update had wheel bearings tested and they are fine. the tech said its more then likely the release bearing. still looking into having to replace tranny from scrapyard this weekend. Friday will be taking it to transmission place for free road test and repair estimate. Was hoping not to have to replace it, due to having no experience replacing one. Is it possible it is a bad cv axle with the noise sounding like splines grinding more then a bearing grind sound. any other advice is greatly welcome. and if more info is needed please let me know.
further update. put car up on jack stands and opened hood and had someone run the car up to 40mph while up in the air. all grinding and vibrations where located in the transmission area. so just going to replace it maybe i can get a B style s20 to make it a bit peppier and fun to drive again.
Final Update. Input shaft bearing bad. replaced transmission with recently rebuilt one. but ended up damaging my cv axles so have to replace those now. but aside for the axle problem it drives smooth as silk now.
