could someone PLEASE!!! get me a pic or 2?
im debating on whether to get an AEM short ram or cold air for my 98 civic EX. #1 because of my driving habits and #2 because if i got the CAI i would have to get an air bypass valve also cause it rains a lot where i live. so i was wondering if anyone could get me a couple pics of a 96-00 civic engine compartment with a short ram and another with a cold air installed. thanks a lot!

Re: (schardbody)
well im not worried so much about the short ram, and i just want to make sure i understand where the filters gonna be if i choose a CAI, as far as i know it's gonna be about where the resonator currently is behind the bumper? if that's right then no worries, sorry for wasting your time.
but i would still appreciate the pics = )
i cant seem to find any myself = /

the filter will be in the wheelwell, other than that it will be a piece of tubing, color of choice thats avail. from AEM, from the hole on the passenger fenderwell, and to the throttle body, nothing really to see.
and im not being a dick, just too lazy to find a pic.

Re: (schardbody)
actually im more concerned about what kind of weather conditions qualify me for getting the air bypass valve... the product descriptions leave it to a very vague "large" puddles... i dont know what that means...
should i just get the bypass valve to be on the safe side?

what does a bypass filter have to do w/ flow, it opens when the intake pressure exceeds the pressure at the filter, which is only when the filter is completely covered/soaked.
in my opinion, unless you plan on driving through deep water its useless. a little water on the filter doesnt hurt to much. submerging the filter will.

your a dumbass.
It's not going to mess up the air flow.
btw I like the cold air intake because when it's really hot, but the short ram is good too. It not really a big different on which you get.

Re: (honda_civic1)
ok, so i dont have to worry about the bypass valve then, i dont go through water deep enough to put the bumper under water. i thought the bypass valve was just for like, heavy splashes and stuff but i dont suppose much water would get into it in any case since its pretty well hidden behind the bumper. thanks a lot guys.
