Default This Could Be A Problem

My car was runnning really werid this morning. The idle was rough and it sounded pretty much like a weed wacker. I pulled to the side of the road and popped the hood. To my complete and udder shock the #2 cylinder spark plug wire was pushed up out of the engine. I killed the car and had a look at it. It looks like there's oil up around the spark plug.....not a good thin at all I'm guessing. I reconnected the plug and drove home but....what the hell is wrong with my car? It's a D15....92 DX hatch. Someone, anyone...help me.

Go to the dealer and buy the following:

1. New plugs - NGK ZFR5F-11 (You can get these from any parts store really) $12.00 maybe?
2. New plug wires - most expensive. Like $38.00-$50.00
3. New valvecover gasket - maybe like $7.00?
4. New sparkplug tube seals (4 total) - maybe total of $10.00?
5. Tube of Hondabond gasket sealer/maker - Like $12.00

Your spark plug tube seals are leaking oil, and that causes the plug wires to swell and push out of the valvecover. This causes one plug not to fire, thus the motor will run like shiton 3 cylinders.

Simply remove the valvecover by loosening the 10mm buts on it. After removing the valvecover pull off the old valvecover gasket around the bottom and then pull off the 4 little round gaskets off the bottom - this is what was old and cristy and leaking.

Put the new 4 plug seals on and then put the valvecover gasket on the valvecover. On the corners where the gasket arches, apply a THIN layer of Hondabond for extra holding. Apply it so that the Hondabond is smasked between the valvecover gasket and the actual cylinder gead.

Be extremely careful when tightening the valvecover nuts. They do NOT need much tightening or you WILL snap off a head stud, which really blows because then the whole valvecover will leak.

Good luck!

This man is right, i over torqued the valve cover bolts like a dum *** and broke one. Ended up having to wasted like 30 minutes with a super skinny drill bit, drilling into the stud and putting something really skinny into it to twist it out.
