Could my alternator be going??
I feel really stupid asking this, but I need other opinions. I know when an alternator goes, there are several ways to tell, like a loud grinding noise or the battery light. Well, I got the battery light this morning when I started my car. It stayed on for about a minute than went off, and the engine went from 1500 rpm`s to about 1100. Than when the light went out, it jumped back to about 1400 and then my car ran fine. Is it possble my alternator is going?

Easiest way is checking the voltage on the battery. Should be about 12-12.5 with the car off. And about 14 with the car running, idling around 1000rpm.
