Could i hard wire my VSS signal going to the ecu to a constant power source?
long story short,
i didnt do the wiring/swap on this car
im very short on time for a big event
throwing code 17 vss, could be the vss, maybe the cluster, could be the wiring, ive been trying all day to figure it out, nothing
my question is can i feed the vss a constant power source as to trick the ecu into thinking its getting a signal? greater than 20mph?
that way vtec and no code?
i mean the vss really has no role in the fuel maps it just controls vtec and speedo readout.
i just dont want to feed it too much power and blow the ecu?
what do you think?

No the speed sensor sends out pulses if I understand correctly and a constant voltage would burn out the ecu or give you the same code.

i was afraid of this
anyone know if you can tune around this in crome or uber? i know u can disable the vtec speed check but is there any way to get the ECU to ignore the vss entirely???

How about just fixing it? It can't be that hard, power ground and signal. Take it off, Turn the gear and see if it puts out a signal. Go to the ECU harness and see of the signal's getting there. Make sure it's got power and ground.
