Could a Del Sol be a "race car"?
most del sols you see are stock or show cars. but could it be a "race car"?
it doesn´t have great requisites for a race car, but what do you think?

Yes, even though they have the weakest chasis of all the EG's. There are some that are just plain mean. And they look good IMO.

Why not? It's still a type of Civic and can have anything any Civic can have. Just a little heavier. I'd build up a Del Sol to race. I like there style, just couldn't afford one when I bought my EH.

Take a del Sols respective EG and add 100 pounds. That's the difference. The targa does allow the frame to flex, but if you can stiffen it up, it has a nice short wheel base. Mine so far is at 13.764, and very soon to be 13.4-13.5. 12.99 before the end of the season or bust.

I think the my105.com drag car would qualify as a del sol race car once it finishes fabrication and testing.
Sure, its an h22a powered methanol burner, but I think it will do alright.

If your going to BUILD a racecar from the ground up, use a crx. Unless your just racing your dd then del sols are tight.

NevadaSol I remember looking at your car before I ever came to ht...I had never really seen a built sol before and I remember thinking and find myself still thinking "damn that car is dope"

Unfortunately, the car in the link is not mine...
This is mine:
The windshield banner is for my friend's shop, who helps me with all the work on my car.... just a note before I get jumped on.

The My105 Del Sol should run 9's hopefully...
Methanol burning turbo h22a on a built platform like that del sol should do alright...
Its an Australian built car, the first pro outlaw ff class car...
It's due to run it's first run at the New Zealand Four & Rotary Nationals in October
Hellz yes i'm going to be there...
The world's fastest rotary will be there (7.8s 0-400m), along with some low 9 second gtrs, and some mid 10 second evo's
Another Australian car i'd like to see is the Croyden drag eg hatch... 850hp h22a powered... if they can find some driveshafts to tame it (seems to snap both on every launch) it should be set for 9's as well..

i ran 12's all motor in my old del sol...gsr frankenstein motor...only problems with the del's are they are heavy, weight reduction is key in having a quick del....
