Default Cost of roll cages

How much does a basic roll cage run? Not sure exactly which one I am looking for but one that will be legal for 11 second and lower cars. It is a street car but I plan to occasionaly track it and seeing how hondas crumble in an accident I feel it is a great safety investment so I am considering adding one to my car.

Check any machine shop and tell them what you want. The price will vary for what its made out of how man bends how many bars wether you want it pwdercoated or not what color you want it podercoated. Theres too many questions to give you a price but any machine shop will be able to.

I think he was talking about mass produced roll cages.

yes I am talking about the mass produced ones. I saw one in the sponor forum for $169...any idea on how hard this is to install for a shop? I am assuming it comes in peices and I can't weld.

can’t weld and roll cage doesn’t belong in the same sentence..

I bought a roll cage from http://www.cachassisworks.com/
it was a custom built 10pt cage about 400 shipped, on there website they have a custom cage worksheet where you measure a few dimensions and they bend it and ship it to you and you install it yourself

i doubt anyone built there own cage it takes a serious mandrel bending machince to bend that steel and the metal pipes alone would be more then $80 maybe if you made it out of exhaust tubing

There are a couple of places here in the PA area that'll make an 8 pt for $100 unfinished.
