Default Cost of 99-00 front setup on older civics... 96-98?

Hi, I'm new here...
I thinking about buying an older civic & was wondering how much it would cost to change the appearance of the front end?

Also, how do I remove this "trial user account" status, so I can post on the vehicles for sale section?

Thanks,
D

If you're buying a car and want the 99-00 front end, just get a 99 or 00.

Save you a lot of headache and fabrication.

It's not hard to do. The money you'll spend on the conversion could make up for the cost it would have taken to get the newer car.

and with a 99-00 you get nicer climate controls, a hatch handle, and a different cupholder.

The handle that opens the hatch is on '98 hatches too. I don't see where the OP is looking for a hatch in particular.

'98+ Civics (at least the EXes) also have the maplights that previous years didn't have.

And owners of '99-'00 Civics actually often swap those cupholders out for '96-'98 cupholders.

The climate control being nicer or the front end being nicer is all opinion. I personally love the '96-'98 front end, especially modified and I can't stand the ***** on the '99-'00 climate control.

The reason why I asked was... I see many heavily modified pre 99 civic for sale that I would like to purchase. However, I prefer the look on an SI. I don't personally like the looks of hatches, but if I can't find the right Civic, I would still consider one.

I wish the hatch came in an EX model.

Sadly only the rest of the world got the cool hatches

I know, I want a factory sunroof/pw/pl/folding mirrors on my car too.

I like the idea of buying a roofskin from overseas. Honestly, the moonroof components are probably the same inside as the coupe/sedan. So you'd only need the skin and headliner from overseas for sure.

So you could probably canabalize a coupe or sedan in the states for the rest of the parts. It would be neat if someone produced hatch roof skins in the US. I doubt it'd be worth the money though.

I don't even have a hatch and I think it would be worth it if some company did this. Can I get one installed at the dealer?

^^ If you pay good money an aftermarket sunroof install can be pretty nice. But that's looking at $500+

But to me, If I had to money I think it would be worth it.

I had a EG coupe DX that had an aftermarket sunroof installed. It was pretty nice. I bought it that way though.

US Honda dealerships won't sell you overseas parts.

They roll out of the factory with sunroofs installed. The roof skin is a seperate manufacturing piece.
