gas WILL not sit for 2.5 years and still maintain its combustive properties unless you added fuel stabilizer since the beginning.

search "firing order" for the answer to that, as for the no start, sounds like either a bad dizzy, ignition switch, or main relay. check the codes.
your description is vague, but if the CEL comes on and goes off then the main relay is most likely working. it will come back on again after cranking w/ no start after a few seconds and disable the dizzy.
