Ok guys, I have kind of a stupid question lol. I just finished my swap and my ECU is plugged in, but the problem is I just have it sitting on the floor on the passenger side. I can't seem to figure out how to put it back into the kick panel. The wiring is kind of preventing me from doing so and I can't really remember how it sits inside there lol. Me and a friend were messing around with it for about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get it back in there with no luck.

My car is a 00' Civic EX.

Any advice and pics?

I haven't had a fitment issue and my ecu is a p28 with a obd2b-obd1 jumper harness (99 Civic EX). I got everything to fit fine using one of the stock bolt mounting points. I just crammed it under there nicely.

I'll try and get a pic to post up today. It'll give me a reason to get the 10 inches of snow off my car.

Thanks. Yea a pic would definitely help. I just can't seem to get it to fit correctly. There are two rubber handles protruding from one side of the ecu, in which direction should I have them pointing? And I know what you mean about the snow. We're expecting 14 inches here.

Sorry for the title, I didn't realize it wasn't completed. Could a mod change it to "Correct ECU Placement"

Thanks again.

^^that's right. The plug sockets go towards the bottom, and the rubber feet go towards the firewall. At least in my car, there's like a little channel thingy that they sit in.

Keep playing with it... I've had the same problem before. When you finally get it back into the correct orientation, it should almost jump back in there.

If you are going from the stock square ECU, to the longer rectangle p28 etc, I think you would only be able to use one bolt to hold the ecu in. I pushed the rubber pieces toward the firewall, put the one bolt in, then gently shoved the wires/conversion harness in. It was a little of a PITA to get the kick panel back on, but it'll work.

That pic is perfect matt93eg.

if its plugged up, it is easier to mount the ecu up first then plug in the connectors

ok thanks a lot for the picture and info. I've been messing around with this for days and couldn't figure it out. All this time I thought the onnectors were at the top. I'll remove it and bolt it in first. I can't do it right now sincd there's 4 inches of snow outside and counting. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks again.

yeah I have the rectangular bigger one (OBD2a) and it's held in by only one bolt, wires at the bottom
