Cooling Fan Issue
Hey everyone! Let me start by saying that I just have basic car skills so your help is greatly appreciated.
I have a 99 Civic LX auto w/D16Y7. Recently it has started to overheat. The cooling fan only comes on when the temp gauge is almost at the limit. There is coolant passed the max level in the reservoir and even comes out of the top of the reservoir.
I had the 200k service done about a month ago and it has been fine up until now. I checked the fan by jumping it to the battery, and it works fine. The fuse is fine as well. I swapped the relay with the condenser fan relay and the condenser fan comes on when I turn on the A/C. (Could it still be the relay?) I've swapped out the thermostat and the fan temp switch. I've also burped the cooling system. There is no scent of coolant coming from the exhaust and the oil is clean and clear.
Is there something that I am missing? Why is the cooling fan only coming on when the temp gauge is almost at it's limit?
Thank you for your time!

Re: Cooling Fan Issue (TEGSTEG)
If you've tried all the basic stuff, try other things like the radiator itself or the waterpump. Change the fuses and relays maybe? Good luck.
