Coolent problems
well im just wondering why all of my coolent is going into the reserve and the radiator doesnt want to suck it back in. Today i checked my fluids and the radiator was bone dry and i looked at the reserve it was over filled. all of the coolent is going into the reserve and not back into the radiator. I changed my water pump, thermostat, radiator cap and radiator. If anyone can help it would be appreciated. thanx.
P.S. By the way the coolent doesnt circulate when im on the freeway.

Re: Coolent problems (97hb)
i just changed the radiator cap. im using the mugen radiator cap, and yes it warms up fully and it over heats when there is no coolent in the radiator, because all the coolent is in the reserve.

Re: Coolent problems (projectM)
you can not have all the coolent in the reserve.. thers alot more in the radiator !! .. maybe you have a leak or a blow headgasket !!!.. and a note of advise !!!. dont overheat your engine !!! that will kill it !! specily the piston rings = it will use olie !!.. and in general will not be good for anyparts !!..

Re: Coolent problems (projectM)
Did you bleed the coolant properly? 96 and on cars, fill radiator to the top, leave the radiator cap off and let the car idle until the fan comes on. All this must be done with the heater on full hot, and max setting of 4 to bleed properly. Pre 96 has a bleed bolt, you just undo the bolt and wait for a steady stream of coolant to run out.

i have a 95 so do i have to run with the heater on or, do i just have to have the bleeder bolt lose and let coolent run out until the fan kicks on.

Re: Coolent problems (projectM)
it's gotta be your head gasket. when I blew my head gasket, my overflow would fill up from the radiator, my fan wouldn't turn on, and the car would over heat. Look for leaks around the head...
