Default Coolant leaking from this weird thing...

Hi guys. Recently my car started leaking coolant. I finally found out where it was leaking at.

It was covered by this vacuum cap .... its all messed up when i got it out.

Now my question is what is that thing supposed to connect to? Was it just an end that was cap with a rubber cap??

Thanks

Looks like somebody bypassed the FITV and didn't do it right.

What exactly is that? What is the "correct" way of bypassing it or fix it to stock or whatever? THanks

it goes through the IACV on the back of the I/M and then through the throttle body, it helps warm the engine up in the winter. Whoever before you just bypassed it by putting a cap on the end which is not really the right way of doing it...

I do have a SLIGHT idle issues. Car stalls sometimes but nothing major. Can anyone show me where its supposed to connect to?

I only understand half of that statement. What is an IACV? Im looking at the I/M right now and there are a punch of tubes/hoses. Don't see where its plug into.

thats one of your main coolant ports for ur intake manifold. theres one on the thermostat housing that it connects to.

Idle air control valve. It's on the back of your manifold and allows your ECU to modify your idle speed when the engine is cold.

It may or may not be the IACV that was bypassed, but I'm inclined to suggest that it could also be the line to the throttle body that was bypassed. This is also for warming the TB when it's cold out so the butterfly doesn't bind. Not really necessary though.

However, idle problems point me back to IACV.

its behind the intake manifold by the throttle body
it should have 2 "little weird things"on the back it connects to you just need a hose

i have an extra coolant line on my for some reason as well. i just took a coolant hose that would fit over the inlet there and then found a spare bolt with a smooth side to it, cut the threaded part off, made sure it fit tight as hell in the hose, and put a clamp on it.

works great

Well, after careful inspection 2day... I still couldnt figure out where to connect it to. So i just went ahead and bought a new vacuum cap from pepboys and just plugged up so it doesnt leak. Im trying to figure like a picture or a diagram or something to see exactly where it goes. Word descriptions are kind of tought.

Found out how to bypass the coolant going to the IACV. In theory you gain HP by doing it.

that coolant nipple can also can go to the fitv (fast idle thermo valve). but newer throttle bodies don't have them and your manifold and throttle body might not be the same year.

In the diagram i have posted above^^ the coolant is suppose to come from the block of your engine, into the FITV, into the IACV and then back into the engine.

Excuse me for my lack of knowledge/experience but Im not sure what the FITV looks like. Is this the FITV?

I can see the valve been blocked off bypass (pink arrow)

According to this thread.. https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 im not sure which is 1 , 4 , 5 ,6.

And while I was looking back there, I found this lose plug.......

Well actually not one lose plug but 2 lose plugs

Anyone knows what it plugs to?

^ Sorrie if it was a lil off topic there but i didn't want to make another thread. Some on here surely will know the answer thanks!

first pic is the tps.
2nd that looks like a vac line. i dont think you'll be needing to uncap that.
3rd 4th is fine. dont mess with it. its a jumper plug
5th is a o2 sensor connector. you should have 2 02 sensors. primary and a 2ndary

Well if not your car will run like s*** if both o2 sensors arnt plugged in. Its not hard to find the o2 sensors, just jack the car up and get under, there should be one right before the cat converter on the downpipe, and there should be another right in the middle of the cat converter.

Ok, I thought that i've fixed the leaking problem... but guess wut... its still leaking. It leaks less than before tho. Anyways, I was thinking I going to reconnect the hoses. Except I dont know where it connects to. Anyone has an actually picture that they can illustrate to me? THANKS ALOT.
I dont want to bypass it anymore. My idle is bouncy, and im hoping this will fix the problem. (also the idle is only bouncy when its hot, thats what i've notice. Sometimes i would actually stall at a stop light..........)
