Default Coolant leak

I bought a 97 Civic ex, D16Y5 with a new head. Forgot what exact head it is. Coolant was leaking from the back and front slowly between the block and head. I replaced the he gasket with an OEM gasket from Honda. Drove it 8 Mike's and now again I'm slowly seeing the coolant leak again. What could be the problem? Do I need to get the new head "re-surfaced?"

Yes. If you properly torqued the 2nd HG ,and you are getting leaks to the outside like that, the head HAS to be non flat..

So I kept driving it and today it wasn't leaking at all. Drove 18 miles and I topped it off before I left to my destination. Only took a little to top off...4 seconds. Its just not leaking anymore. I don't get it
