Default Coolant Hose issue, what are my possible solutions. Swap Tech Needed

Setup:
97 GSR motor
97 GSR upper and lower hoses
Koyo Half Size Dual Core Alum. Radiator im pretty sure for 92-95 civic
92 Honda Civic DX

problem:
The outside diameter of the GSR coolant necks are larger than outside diameters of the radiator( due to it being for a Civic with a stock motor).
So...the GSR hose fits to the motor coolant necks but not the radiator necks.

My short term solutions:
Cut pieces of old rad hose and used it to feel in space so it doesnt leak.

Long Term solutions:

What are they??? Help

Do i buy another radiator?? one for a GSR?? If so....arent those full size so technically that wouldnt work.(without major bracket changes).

OR are there custom hoses to fix this problem? or anything else.

let me know!

Just use the Civic hoses. Should be fine.

Get a radiator from an SI. You can use what you have but the consensus is that you just have to clamp down on the hose end pretty damn tight.

Use adjustable gear style hose clamps. You can't use Si Hoses due to the way they're shaped (they're also the same diameter as the GS-R hoses so it wont really help anyway) what you can do is use the Si rad, or one for a '94 - '97 Del Sol VTEC. Be aware that if you ordered a new aftermarket replacement rad for either of these cars they often use the small D-series waternecks, whereas the OEM versions have the larger B-series waternecks.

You can buy aftermarket aluminum half core radiators with either small or large waternecks. Or I believe the Del Sol VTEC had a half core with larger waternecks. Can someone verify this? That car had a B16 and a half core, so it had to have either different hoses or a different radiator.

In the meantime, just get good hose clamps and tighten them down good. Plenty of people do this and it works. Not my recommended fix, but yeah...

You can also buy a hose that has two different sized ends on it, this will take some searching but once you measure the size of the ends you need should be easy to find, then some adjustable clamps and your all set. I don't know why someone would buy a different radiator just because of a ill fitting hose.

I did a GSR swap on my 93 Civic I used a Koyo radiator with Mishimoto Integra 94-01 Rad hoses and T-bolt clamps I had no issues with installation.

i did some research.... the oem radiator part number for a SI(92-95), a DX,LX, del sol vtec, etc. are the same. 19010-p03-505. FYI, I have a Koyo Half size dual core Alum "Racing" radiator, which has the small neck for D-series motors. Also i do use t-clamp's. And i have tried that "tighten it down REALLY tight" method, i still got a slow leak, and that's not much of a long term fix, agree? Also using the the smaller radiator hoses, how the hell am i gonna get it over the motor necks? I have tried looking for hoses with different diameter ends. no such thing.

i think we need some clarification about when people to the SI model civic. What are you referring to SI EG or SI EM1(2000)??

When u go to ebay to look at radiators, they group 92 all the way up to 2000 civic's together, which means they ALL use the same radiator. actually....i just looked up INTEGRA RADIATOR, and they group, civic, del sol, crx, integra all together, and use a 1.25 neck size. Thats pretty stupid. So i just did a little more digging and an OEM replacement radiator made by koyo comes with 1.10 in. neck size. And according to koyo the neck size is 1.25 in for an Integra. Tomorrow, i will measure the neck size's of the gsr motor and the koyo radiator i own. Theres alot of confusing info out there.

All replies appreciated.

And that website, linked above, i took a look and that reducer bushing is the closest thing to a fix. but i cant see where they have sizes available and if there even for sale. and if needed a reducer bushing of 1.25 to 1.10( 1/ 12 to 1 1/8) is needed.

Not true, the Del Sol VTEC is part number: 19010-P30-505

ahh ****..your right. humm...

FYI...i measured the neck on my koyo racing rad. and it was 1 1/8(1.10/ 28mm). went to there site and found its related part number R1952. This one has the smaller neck.

Well it seems my true fix is to get rid of the R1952 and get the R1570 which is also made for the civic which has the 1.25 necks on it.
