Default Converting AUTO to MANUAL?

i am getting ready to buy another hatch, and i was just thinking how hard would it be to convert an auto to a manual counting the fact that i have everything i need from my 93 hatch si. Like what exacly has to be done? does everything fit just fine? any drilling or costumizing necessary? Please help, i need to know soon cause im getting ready to buy. thanks.

Not sure how much of this applies to the Eg chassis, but here's what I had to do on my Ek.

wow, a piece of cake, i have everything i need from my 93 Si and in great condition too...hopefully everything works out if i get the auto hatch. So cutting or customizing is necessary? It all just bolts up? If so, thats great! happy as ****, thanks guys.

definatly one problem.... just did an auto to manual swap in a hatch...the body portion of the tranny mount has to be moved.......which means cutting and welding......it has to go 1 inch down and one inch foward......and when you do the switch you have to make sure you dont forget to leave the key lock (white box under auto shifter) in park otherwise your key will go in but will not come back out again........ but all and all its not too bad we had it done in 5 hours just 2 of us workin and bullshittin drinkin...fun day

2 wires get cut and moved and you have to make sure when you are done to wire in the reverse lights.....i didnt handle that part ill ask my partner how 2 do that and tell you, i just called him he dosent have the schematic anymore he let someone borrow it but he said he will try to write it down when he gets a min....then give it to me ill keep you posted..

I would go with a maual ecu, I also picked up a wiring harness as well, but I did a mini-me at the same time. You just have to short two wires together to make the car start(trick the ecu into thinking it's in park or neutral). And where the auto shift cable comes out the bottom you have to cut the sheet metal out because it hits the shift linkage, it's very simple, die grinder then get some sheetmetal and cover the big hole up. If you have any probs feel free to im me.good luck

it sounds hard but when you get down 2 it, its not that hard at all just time consuming.. you need to make sure there are no loose ends.....takes patience...know what im sayin?

either way you have to use a manual ecu...but in order to not splice the wires you have to convert the whole dash harness

what the hell are you talking about? splicing wires? that is totally wrong..

i just did this in a 95 dx and that **** was plug and play....

so splicing no rewiring..but also i said f the reverse lights..

also f rewelding the tranny mount..buy the auto-manual mount from jdmshit.com or pm user NEWMAN for that mount...

also THE CONVERSION IS VERY EASY....its as hard as taking out the tranny and putting manual **** back in...

there is no wiring needed... the plugs that plug into the auto tranny are not needed just let them hang...who cares about them your manual ecu will not look for those sensors..

only think is keep the big white thing on the shifter in park you can do that by putting silicone on it or whatever to just keep it in that position..

also you take out a few more boxes on the clutch pedal and leave the wires hanging....
