Default converter

ok i have a 98 civic ex with a b18b1 swap i just ordered the skunk2 exhaust a few days ago and my car previously has an exhaust on it i have dc sports 4 to 1 header some chopped up and welded converter then they cut out the resinator and welded a pipe in there then it comes out to the most awfull sounding muffler ever. my question being it has a little shorty cat on there now with about a 5 inch pipe welded onto it and im not even sure if the cat is hallowed or not is there a way when i get my new exhaust and i have everything apart i can get a longer cat or maybe even the stock cat depending on legnth and do away with the horrible looking chopped up cat that is on there now and if so does anyone know the legnth is should be to avoid gaps and having to weld stuff up i want a compleate bolt on exhaust
