The connecting pin on the hydralic Trans
i just recentally swapped in a sohc si motor into my dx and tonight while driving down the highway i am guessing the pin some how poped or slid out. i am wonder would it be better to go get another pin or would it be better to put a bolt and nut and use lock tite or just get a solid peace of steel rod and put a hoop on one end and make it a closeable pin?? any help would be great also the size of the hole would be helpful

Oh yeah... for the time being a bolt would do fine! My last response probably made me sound like a dick.

I can't see how it would fall out, as much of a PITA as it is to remove and install. But we all know that Honda over-engineers everything, so that's the reason for the broad C-clip that wraps around the pin and joint. I've heard Titan Motorsports in Orlando makes a slack-free solution to a worn out shift linkage joint.
Nevermind, just saw it was you MistaBone. Didn't pick up the sarcasm in your post. How can I presume to educate the D-tranny guru?

For god sakes if you put the bolt in don't keep it in for long it makes the car shift like *** for real. Just go to honda and get the bitch pin and the retainer ring don't be suprised if they have to order it or maybe yours will accually have a part i need everything i need or want from honda "we are going to have to order it it will be here in a few days" that really pisses me off.

I always carry a spare "bitch pin" in the tool case.
BTW "Benny Z" is the person who coined the term "BITCH pin......." till I showed up to help.

On a side note....It took my swap-impaired *** a day to figure out what to use to get out the bitch pin....once I did it popped right out. Putting it back in proved almost impossible but that sucker sure as hell isn't coming back out. How did yours just "happen" to pop out...those things are ON there.
