confused on obd2 - 1
ive done a little research and am a bit confused still so hoping to get it cleared up. ive been on the market for new engine have a y8 i could grab as well as a y7blck/z6 head
its goin in an eg
if i went y8 what all wires would i need to onvert to obd1?
and is y8 obd2 or obd2a?
theres a few of em ecu, dizzy i think? and one other. i just wanted to make sure i get all of the required wires to convert

Re: confused on obd2 - 1
Ok, 96-98 are obd2a, 99-00 are obd2b. Not sure if the 99-00 NON Si are obd2b as well. some one can chime in on that. 92-95 are obd1. below 92 are obd0.
what makes an obd2, obd1, obd0....the plugs. from what it seems, u have a 93-95 civic obd1 and u are trying to swap an obd2.
for most of the stuff...there is several options u can choose from. These are what i know, maybe there is more.
- IAT sensor or plug, needs to be changed to an obd1.
- Dizzy needs to be changed to obd1 dizzy. (or buy a dizzy jumper harness obd2-obd1.)
- Fuel Injectors will need to be changed to obd1 injectors (or change the plugs on ur obd1 harness to obd2 plugs)
- Alternator will need to be changed to obd1, (or change the plug from ur obd1 harness to an obd2 plug)
as for the ECU, u can still use urs since u CAN NOT! use a obd2 harness in a obd1 car....keep ur harness....keep ur ECU. all u have to do is change plugs...or change actual parts to obd1.
