Confused about swap
Just finished doing a swap yesterday. It was a b18c1 into a 92 civic.Connected 1 wire from the ecu to the engine and decided i was too damn tired to work on it anymore.Cranksed her up and it started up perfectly. As i was driving home,i noticed no engine light was on so i stepped on it and Vtec engages.Im thought i was supposed to connect more than 1 wire.Ami missing something?

Re: Confused about swap (Rocco.)
Which wire did you connect? IAB?
VTEC itself is already pre-wired in all '92 model Civics. Did you plug everything in? Are you sure VTEC is engaging at 4400 RPM?

Re: Confused about swap (Rocco.)
what model civic do you have? if you have an EX,VXorSI then it should be wired up for V-TEC, but if you have CX,LX,DX, then you have to wire up the V-TEC.

Well you definitely have to wire the IAB's because that's a GSR only wire.

vtec will still crack if thast not connected.. Alot of people recomend going with a b16/ITR skunk2 intake mani so that way you dont have to mess with wiring...

Which IMO is a **** poor excuse - it's only 1 wire. The dual-stage intake manifold produces significantly more midrange torque, which is more usable for a daily driven car or an autocrosser.
