Default Confused about this lug key help please!!!

Ok i bought this car with some nasty rims and im supposed to change the rims tomarrow. The guy gave me a lug key for the lug nuts, but the key has no spot for a socket wrench to fit in it. Like the end is just solid and only open on the oppisite site for the lug to go in. How am i supposed to use this? im confused plese help.

Is it a hex head on the outside part? Can you place a socket over the closed end?
