Default Cond. Fan Failed: Can this stall engine?

The car stalled on the road the other day but was able to start back up.

Upon inspection I found that the condenser fail failed and the compressor blew its safety valve in response.

I have a helms and a multimeter so I'll be able to diagnose the fan but my question is this:

Could this high pressure a/c failure have been the reason for the stall?

What were the conditions of the stall; highway cruising or at a stop light/idle?

City driving 30-50mph occasional stops. Was going about 45 at the time and hadn't been on the highway yet. It is worth noting that it was 102 degrees f outside

I was thinking maybe the car was idling at the time. Im over my head on this one. But I cant see how the A/C compressor could kill the engine. Even if the compressor load shot up, the engine wouldn't just die.

Was the car overheating?

Not over heating.
Also when I inadvertently caused it to blow out again in my driveway, the belt slipped and screeched. Is it possible that at higher speeds this grabbed the motor and stalled it?

I was thinking that at first, but how could it stall when its connected to the transmission? The mass of the vehicle will keep the engine going. Is it an auto trans? If it is that might be it. I'm sure you saw that the compressor can put a huge drag on the engine.
