Default Comptech Swaybar Tiebar owners - which exhaust do you use?

[edit] 92-95 civic hatchback only

I put one of these bars on my track hatch about two years ago and went though all kinds of hell trying to find an exhaust that clears the bar. I ended up having to build an exhaust myself to get clearance. I want to put another one on my new daily driver and need to get some definite answers as to what fits. I'd like to run the Apex'i WS or something quiet if I can.

I'll start:

Thermal - pipe lays on the swaybar
Pacesetter (don't ask) - pipe lays on the bar & canister rubs
Buddy Club Spec 2 - fits perfectly (and my ears still hurt)
Stock - does not rub
Spoon axleback - does not rub

thx.

Whats up bro? I ran that sway bar and tie bar combo on my 02 Si and my 00 Si and the exhaust that fits is the comptech and the stock. On my 02 Si I used a Greddy for a little while then switched to the comptech it is a great exhaust with a great sound and is not loud at all. I recommend going with comptech.

This is personal experience talking.

I have the HKS Hi-Power and everynow and then it rubs, kind of annoying, but it's not a constant thing.

EDIT: sorry, didn't see your edit for a hatch

Bump

I have one on my 00 Si with a GReddy EVO, and would like to get one for my 95 CX. Anyone know if the RSR would work on that 95 Hatch?

he is talking about an EG hatch. i don't have the comptech setup but i have the SRR setup and i also have a comptech axel back. i had to get the pipeing redone so that it clears and now i have to go back and have the muffler pushed out futher so that it will fit.

when you are puting a clasic style muffler on a EG hatch you get kinda screwed if you have a sway/tie bar combo. there is such lil room back there that the muffleing part of the muffler is a tight squeez without a sway/tie bar combo so when you throw that into the mix you are kinda left with having to customize. now i haven't tried all systems out but i took some messurements and if i remeber correctly you need to find a muffler were the body of it is less than 10 inchs. now even with a muffler around 10 inchs you will need to do alil hackin on the bumber most likely, unless you want to run a huge dip in the pipeing which isn't good for flow.

here is a pic of it, not that great but you get the idea, there is come cuting that was from my old exhaust and the new stuff is over to the drivers side of the car. But more needs to be done and my muffler needs to be pushed out even futher.

and yes thats a comptech muffler, you can see i left alil blang action were the label is, and i also cut off there tip and used muffler pipeing as a new tip. I didn't like the comptech's blangin tip

I'll try to take pics of the exhaust I built for my other car sometime this weekend. I'll probably have to jack it up and take the wheel off to get a good shot.

It's 2.5" piping with a Magnaflow oval exhaust at the rear. what I did is run the piping up over the lca/swaybar, then just as it starts to angle down, I attached the muffler. The muffler is angled down towards the rear of the car. You can't tell though because it's painted black and tucked almost completely inside the rear bumper area.

I was hoping to avoid having to go through that again, but I guess at least I'd know it was going to fit...

try and find out how long the ES oval is. i thought about doing this after i found out there needed to be mods to the comptech but coudln't find out how long it is. My freind weld and fab's alot of 4 wheels drive parts and has a mandrel bender, so over Xmas break we are gona see what we can do to take care of it. GOing the custom route isn't that hard and it garuntees no problems

No ****, right?

With all the money people spend on green coil-overs here, I haven't been able to find more than a couple people that have this Comptech set-up.

I know it fits with the Spoon axle-back on a 92-95 hatch because a local autocrosser is running that set-up.

I have the comptech setup and I run a skunk2 exhaust, fits fine. My exhaust rattles a bit but it's not from the sway/tie bar.

I know on my SRR setup, the APEX'i Dunk would not work with it. That is why I got the APEX'i N1 and cause it goes under the LCA it should work with any tie/sway combo setups:

I used to have the N1 on my car, until it was destroyed by a small object in the road The only gripe I had about it was that since it goes under the lca, it sits REALLY low to the ground, and can get damaged easily...
