Comptech Flywheel
A few weeks ago I did a big *** burn out without the wheels moving, all clutch. Bad news. A clanging noise was a result in the tranny, so I thought it was one of the springs on the clutch. So I got a new clutch, ACT HD w/ a 6puck, I used to have a HD w/ the street and strip disc. When I took the tranny out it revealed that the gear on the flywheel had come loose. So what we did was line it with loc tite and screwed it back in then JBed over the screws. Has anyone heard off this with the Comptech flywheels? The gear is only held on with three screws, there should be more than that.

Re: Comptech Flywheel (B18B EK)
most ring gears are installed like this.
heat it up in the oven then put it on and let it cool. i havent seen that. stake the screws too. hit then with a chisel and right where the flywheel is too. that will give it something to bite on and not loosen.

Re: Comptech Flywheel (boostedcivicsir)
I already installed it, it seems to work. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this happening.
