Default COMPRESSION VS. VALVE ADJ..

Whats up everyone,, need some advice.. got a D16Z6 EX, and I notice the car feels pretty challenged when going up hill. Is this a matter of adjusting the compression or valves. Every thing else considered has been taken car of. any advice is greatly appreciated.

You cant really "adjust" the compression. And a valve adjustment wont do anything to help you.

No. Other then downshifting, and if its an auto it should downshift for you.

Dealer maintenance seems to be a lot of 'checking' and not a lot of replacing.

So what parts do you know were replaced with new items as far as the cap/rotor/plugs/wires go?

What about the air and fuel filters?

When was the last valve adjustment done?

Have you checked/verified that timing in spot on?

O2 sensor with 100k has served a pretty useful life....they typically have 60-75k service intervals. I know on my 99 hatch, when the O2 gets sluggish, so does my acceleration.

Finally some real advice from some REAL playas..
these last 3 suggestinos mentioned above are my concerns as well. so your saying it could be a matter of adj the valves.. is this correct?

I'd actually rank the valve adjustment #3 in priority, with respect to the other two mentioned.

While it may help, I don't think you're going to gain back what you feel you lost.

Did this 'problem' just crop up all of a sudden - or has there been a steady decline in motor performance?
