As long as you are getting #s similar across the cylinders, its in good health. ie: 10% deviation is ok as a general number.

Yeah that's good. Seems a bit high but every gauge is slightly different.

It's more about the variance between the numbers...and of course if they are surprisingly low it should be looked into.

You probably have carbon build up on your pistons if it's that high stock.

I tested my stock d16z6 with 100k on it right after I changed the head gasket and cleaned the pistons off and I got 200 accross the board.

Carbon build up is not good. It can cause detonation among other things, and it's a sign of an engine problem.

Woah. Something is definitely wrong. Did you have the throttle wide open when you did it?

Nope nothing wrong at all. Low compresion ratio, big cam and a gauge that reads on the low side instead of high like most do. Measured leakdown at 2%-5%.

Heres a quick breakdown on how a compression test works...

take atmospheric pressure (14.7 lbs) x whatever your compression ratio is (saaay.. 10:1) and your results should be roughly 147 lbs across the board AT SEA LEVEL. The end result varies depending on your elevation.

If any of your cylinders vary by (plus/minus) 10% then you have a problem in that/those cylinders.

185lbs is fine.
