Re: h22 compression test results (NonovUrbizniz)
h22 this is a old motor that has been beaten. i cranked the motor 5 times for each cylinder. im surprised as well.

yep, IMHO something sounds wrong

Re: h22 compression test results (USDMDC2)
amazing. it is a little high, but i wouldnt get too too worried about it. its probably just a lil carbon built up like someone else said. id rather be a little high than a little low anyway

Do you really need to make a post about this??? seriously?
Cause they are obviously perfect numbers
And the actual number isn't that important, rather the difference in the numbers is what is vital. I've used different gauges on the same engine back to back and got completely different readings, but there were the same across the board.
One went 200-200-200-205 and the other went 180-180-180-185....

"carbon deposits"...interesting information, i never thought of that, and while doing compression checks on older engines...so Im taking it for truth?.....H-T rules
thanks for the post.

I'm just saying it's obvious that the results are perfect and you have nothing to worry about. It's like asking if it's normal for your car to start up perfectly - not being a dic

carbon deposits decrease the volume of the cylinder at TDC...not really going to show up on compression test tho. But this is one of the reasons for older engines to ping.

A little high is when you pin the gauge at 260 after the second revolution ....like my D16Z6 with p29 pistons
Compression gauges are like dynos....it's just a tool to use for comparison and results vary from tool to tool.

Re: h22 compression test results (hondaeg5)
Those numbers are too perfect.
These are mine on D16Y8 with ~10.1 C/R
#4 229 psi
#3 227 psi
#2 230 psi
#1 221 psi
I was actually a little worried about number 1 on mine.

No you don't...
It envolves removing the spark plugs and pulling the fuse for the injectors...
Then you screw in the compression tester (available at just about any car-parts store) then you crank the engine till the needle on the guage tops out.
