compression test end stuck in!!!! HELP!!!!

Default compression test end stuck in!!!! HELP!!!!

i was doing a compression test on my engine, and the end of the damn tester got stuck in the threads, i've tried needle nose pliers to grab the little nub on the top but i'm just stripping it when i try to turn it... how the hell am i suppose to get this thing out???

This happened to me before, what I did was reattach the hose, push down as I unsrewed it. I hope that makes sense to you.

i tried, won't work, let me tell you a little more, when it was in there and i was loosening it i really twisted the hose pretty damn hard and that's when it came off... damn i musta tightend that thing way to much...

when i had that happened to me . the only difference was that the rubber piece was not in there.

i grounded out that cylinder and started the car up. it ran on three cylinder. so i let here warm up nice and hot after that it unscrew out easily.

when metal is hot i thought it expands...?

It does, hes saying the block engine will warm and expand first thus loosening the threads around the tester. It may work but I doubt it since the head would be transfered through the threads causing the tester's threads to also expand.

nice try, but the extension is stuck to the base, the hose came off of the base, the extension AND the piece it ataches to(base) are stuck in there...

never had that happen to me then again i have a snap on compression test kit.
try lettin the motor warm up as the other ppl said.
wouldnt hurt.

Try pulling the valve cover off and see if there is maybe a little more comfortable room to work with.

it wasn't hot when i did it, but i might try to remove it when it's warm... worth a try i guess...

i might have to remove the head....

well not to be an *** but u just have to make sure the tester end is SNUG not super tight cause **** like that can happen be careful next time hope u get it out

i'm thinking by tomorrow night if i can't get it off i'm gonna start removing the head... i have a question though, i should be able to EASILY remove it from the bottom of the head after the head is removed right?

yeah if you'll give me the money sure!!, no but seriously i'd have to go with b18c1 or ls/vtec or something, b16 isn't too big of an upgrade from my d16z6... but right now i just wanna get my car on the road again!!! i've got a helms i downloaded(thanks h-t) to help me if i have to remove the head though... but there's gotta be an easier way...

screw it back down with loctite, let it set, take it out

look at the pic, the hose came off of the tester part, it's not that the extension is stuck in there and the tester end is out, they're both in there..

thanks, i'll sure as hell need it...

but hey my compression seemed pretty good on all 4 cylinders.... too bad i can't drive!!

any other ideas...

i just removed the rubber washer at the end and screwed the top piece without the washer. i tightened it first and the slowly unscrewed and it came off
