Compression readings good or bad. 95 Civic Dx 171k miles
my car is suffering from lack of power, i was thinking the compression was horrible, but doesn't look too bad to me.
1 - 150
2 - 145
3 - 145
4 - 135
I am going to change the plugs. distrib cap and rotor, to see what happenes. just to think this is the only car i haven't fucked with, and drove into the ground 171k miles. woot woot.

do it again... make shure the engine is at operating temperature.. pull the ecu fuse.. and unhook the power to the dizzy ... cuz i have heard of people frying coils...
pull all spark plugs...i cant remember how.. or 1 at a time and crank it over till the needle stops moving.. it should be like 5 rotations..
my friend has a 94 del sol with the dx motor in it and 160 thousand on the motor driven hard most of the time and he got 185 183 180 177

the motor was tested at operating temp. i drove at least 12 miles on it, pulled the plus and tested. so i belive soon it will be time for a new motor.

135 psi is the minimum serviceable compression. 180-185 psi is typical of a good engine. 28 psi is the maximum variation between cylinders. Do a leakdown test to determine if it is the piston rings or the valves that are causing the low compression.
