Compression problems?
So I'm going to the bank, with the windows down, and I hear a "Tick tick tick tick.." semi fast. After sticking my head out the window and wiggling the hell out of the steering wheel, it sounded like i had a nain or screw in my tire. As I'm getting to the bank, I have to make a left to get in the driveway, so I stop for traffic, then i hear the ticking still going. So I'm thinking ****. Park the car and turned the wheel to the left and looked through the fender and saw my crank pulley wobbling. **** i have a loose nut on it and i dont know how much threads are left, can i make it home? So i look around my car and found a cressant(sp) wrench (score!) tighten it as much as i could and nursed it home. grab a wratchet(sp?) and tighten it. As it get tighter i look in and see that my crank is spinning a little as i tighten it down. Im currently building a small block and I couldnt turn that damn thing over for the life of me (with all spark plugs in anyways). So are I4's normally easier? or do i have a compression loss on my hands?
