Default Compression numbers and bad head gasket

I got a compression tester today and checked my compression. I numbered the cylinders from left to right 1,2,3,4 (dont know the real numbers) Here they are:

1-190 psi
2-195 psi
3-175 psi
4-230 psi

I thought that the compression would be lower with bad head gasket and according to my helms, 180ish is the correct number for my d15b7

Could it still be bad head gasket?

how did you perform the test?

that 4 cylinder must have a high compression piston in it or something, lol

I put the tester in and cranked it 4-5 times. Didnt put in gas that time, but when i did it resulted in a higher number.

Could it be that cylinder is just really carboned up? Didnt really make sense to me either but i did a few tries.

Hmm, did you make sure you took out the EFI fuse or atleast the fuel pump fuse so that no fuel went into the cylinders. When I checked the compression on my pimp geo prism I needed to crank it for a good 10 seconds before it reached max.

Yeah i pulled the ECU fuse.

When i cranked and checked the other cylinders, it looked like coolant squirted out of number 4. I know that shouldnt happen but maybe that affected my readings. Possible?
