Complicated EK electrical problem?
Just seeing if anyone can help. I'll try to explain whats up the best i can. Just picked up a 96 EK and it has some electrical problems. I've already checked the fuses and just for the heck of it replaced the relays under the hood with known good ones. Heres the problem. My headlights and brake lights arnt working. The only light that does work is the passenger side turn signals, front and rear but none of the others work at all.

i had this problem before too but it was from a wire tuck.Maybe the harness on the driver side (under the hood) that connects to the headlights and turn signals and horn fell into the alternator belt and ripped up some of those wire.

^^ Possibly, but that wouldn't explain the rear lights problem. You've checked bulbs, correct? I fear it's time to get a multimeter out and track down the problem that way. Could be one or multiple bad grounds. Get yourself a Helms manual (Google search).

It might even be your switch - you can take this apart and clean: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/diy-combination-switch-fix-headlight-switch-wiper-combo-switch-2530751/#post37868978

Re: Complicated EK electrical problem?
Sounds like fun, electrical problems are the best. My first steps are usually checking the car for broken wires from car accidents. I start with the front fenders, hood, and cross member and check for original VIN stickers that came with the car and work from there.
