Re: Complete Tubular AWD Conversion Kit for Civic
Biggest limiting factor from what I've seen is the transfer case on the trans, especially with the CRV/Wagovan conversions done on B and H engines.
Not sure exactly what the big guys are doing that are running 7's and 8s on AWD Honda's. I'm not sure if they've found a way to strengthen the system, or if they just say a really good prayer before each burnout and dig lol.

Anyway a company called alfatech is offering Billet Transfer cases and Billet bell housings for the b-series AWD stuff. A couple of gearset companies are coming out with dog box gearsets for b-series as well.

The two 7 second AWD cars are K-series, the k-series stuff is stronger than the b-series BUT the biggest difference is that PPG dog box gearsets drop right into the AWD k-series cases whereas PPG gearsets do not work with the B-series AWD. The B-series stuff from what I've heard is more like a h-series gearset.

Yeah that is a for now thing, I heard gear x is coming out with a b series dog gearset in December and Alfatech is taking orders on a billet B series bell housing and transfer case. With FCS taking orders on their AWD kit I think some b series cars are going to go fast.

prayoontos awd ej1 just went 1.3 to the 60ft and 3.63 to the 330ft in testing a few days ago.... should be on par with section 8 at wcf if my maths are right. theres gonna be some awesome awd honda action this year if all the cars make it to the event!
edit: nevermind, thats slower than section 8. should still be right around 7.9-8.0 though

Edit: Holy **** just realized the FCS kit is advertised as using the OEM location for the fuel cell, not requiring you to place it in the trunk/hatch...
That's a game changer for me. I've never liked interior mounted cells.

Re: Complete Tubular AWD Conversion Kit for Civic
No, unfortunately. I don't have the time or money to throw at this right now, especially not to be one of the pioneers to first check out and install the kit. There are inevitably going to be issues that need to be sorted out and imperfections in the first trial runs/implementations of these products.
Also in my current build I'd have to backtrack more than I'd really like to at the moment to convert to AWD. I just got a fancy semi-built ITR transmission installed, and my rear suspension is already all sorted out so I don't really want to gut all that right now.
