Cold Startup Problems 93 Del Sol
So same Del Sol as before. Most everything is working pretty well now with one exception. I've been having trouble getting it started during colder days. Even on regular days it doesn't start right up and takes a few tries to get it going. The problem is most obvious during colder days in the morning.
I try and start it up and the engine won't turn over. I have to try for a few minutes until it finally starts turning on. At first it turns on but it runs really rough with low idle and then it turns off. I do that a few times and then finally it manages to turn on fine. The part that I think is important to mention is that if at anytime I try and push on the gas pedal the engine dies. The RPMs just drop and it usually turns off. I have to wait a few minutes for it to work properly.
It never actually fails to turn on but it is a hassle having to go down ten minutes early to make sure I am not late for work. I'm kind of a honda/automotive noob still so if I missed anything just let me know and I will post it up. Thanks!

Sound like a bad ECT.
Let your engine reach operating temperature and turn it off, disconnect the ECT plug and check the ohms it should be between 200-400 ohms.
I have a similar issue this days and ending been a bad MAP sensor.
But yours it's more like ECT.

Re: Cold Startup Problems 93 Del Sol
What do you mean by cold? What is the ambient temperature outside? I used to live in north dakota and that was cold. I had to buy a engine block heater for my 2 gas vehicles and let the glow plugs cycle twice on my diesel. My xterra never wanted to start and then I switched oil viscosity for the cold temp. and that helped out tremendously.
