Cold start problems
Hey guys. I have a 95 hatchback that is having starting issues when it is cold out (between 20 and 30 degrees F). I have had the car when the weather has been decent and it would start fine but now that we are getting into the colder temperatures, the engine is having a harder and harder time starting. It wont start on the first try like it does when its warm out but rather I will have to keep cranking it and once it does start I have to keep on the gas to keep the engine going or it will stall itself.
Also, during the time I am trying to figure this out, would it be a bad idea to use a portable heater fan to heat my block or am I risking cracking the block from the rapid temperature change from cold to hot?

Re: Cold start problems
I do have a CEL up but I havnt found anyone that has a scanner to read OBD1. My local autozone doesnt work with OBD1 and my local Honda dealer charges a ridiculous amount to just plug in their tablet and get the code.
Plugs are new, wires cap and rotor are all original parts as far as I know.
I will attempt to clean the 2 valves you mentioned and get back to you. Thanks

You don't use or need a scanner to read OBD1 CEL codes, just a short piece of wire or a paperclip. Click the CEL sticky at the top.
