I know that cold spark plugs are to prevent the plug from igniting the mixture too soon. And at Higher RPM you would need a colder spark plug because the plug is going to be running more often and therefore hotter.

My question is, Are the any repercussions to using a cold spark plug when it's not necessarily needed?

colder plugs are for forced induciton use.

A hot spark plug has a longer ceramic tip (ceramic insulates the spark plug) and therefore can't dissipate as much heat as a cold spark plug. The cold spark plug has a shorter ceramic tip and can dissipate heat faster.

not really, it's just a little harder to start the car in the morning. I'm using the blitz iridium 7's and I actually get a little better gas milage with the 7's. good luck

you are talking about different heat ranges as per spec'ed on the plugs
for example Denso IK16 or IK20 is equal to a heat range of 5 or 6 respectively...
The reason for this is that the proper range allows for the plug to heat up to a temp that will keep the electrode and ground clean without detonation...With Cams and compression, boost or NOS, you go one to two steps colder as it is an increase of cylinder pressure...
i think stock GSR is IK16 or #5
add boost or anything go up one to two ranges

i didnt replace my stock plugs when i got the blower install d ..as a result the plugs foul d withing minutes..i would think something would happen to a colder plug if it wasnt necessary

fouling plugs usually means too much fuel in that case
