Default Cold air intake question

i have a 96 2dr civic ex and my d16y8 died . i had to replace it with a d16y7 until i can save up money for a better engine. all i want to do right now is put a cold air intake in but im not sure which one will fit. if anyone has a suggestion about which intake i should get it would be appreciated.

woah, i bet you can find an AEM CAI for cheaper than that. But yeah, no point in wasting the money on one for that motor.

I concur.
Doing air modifications on a D series is a waste of time and money.. and it will hurt your low end power, which a D series doesn't really have any of in the first place.

You might gain 1-2 HP up top, but your low end torque is going to suck *****. It makes driving the wimpy little 1.6 even more of an annoyance.
I honestly want my stock air system back

Combine that with an exhaust and headers, and you've got a very loud and slow car.
No buenos.

Try 6whp to the wheels with a nice power curve if you can get a good one.

But, I digress... I'll sell mine for $120 bucks shipped.. Less than half I paid for it.

LOL.
Yeah.. if you get a good intake.
Something like an AEM V2.. i think they are $250-$300
You still lose a little power down low though.
All intake dynos i've seen have a fairly major dip somewhere between 3krpm-4krpm. The dynos start a 3krpm also.. can't imagine what effect it has below that. Probably beats up your low end..

Sure, he can do what he's wants to, but it's not like we're talking about cosmetics. Most of us aren't rich, and the money he'd be wasting on that seems pointless.
