Default Coilover Help Please

hey guys, i installed some ebay coilovers on my 1999 civic dx about a month ago, they were running great and still are but today, i decided to lower it just a tad more, which may now be at around 3 to 3 1/2 inches. the problem here is that i hear a creeking noise in the back right part of the car, which is coming from the spring. i didnt cut the rubber around the rubber stopper on the rear, so do you think that if i cut those a bit that that might stop the noise? any one have a similar situation.

they are just coilover sleeves, they look great and i know that coilover sleeves will never ride well but i wanna eliminate that random noise that just started cuz i never had it before.

no no, the shocks arent the problem, i went to my mechanic, he said that they are fine, but i just lowered it a little more today and the creaking noises started, im wondering what the problem could be.

Bad idea. But you kinda answered your own question. Restore the height to what it was. Problem solved. You're asking for blown shocks sooner than later riding that low.

so you guys think that if i restore the height of the springs or maybe a little higher that the squeak would go away and it would be better for my car?

Yes. You can only lower your car so much before you need lower profile shocks themselves. the shock is bottoming out and will eventually fail. If you get the shorter shocks though, you can run em low as fawk. Just get an alignment.

im lowerd on skunk2 slip ons and the only noise i hear is because my shocks are blown to hell....
how did the mechanic test the shocks?. your shocks will blow if they already havent, my bet is they are gone. you have the worst coilovers you can possibly buy.

put the car back up and see if the noise continues.

idk i just put the car up a bit and i hear a different noise, its not creaking its popping now when i go over the smallest things in the road, i never had this problem before i decided to drop it some more. i only dropped it a bit more for about a day so idk what the problem can possibly be so ill go to my mechanic and ill see what he says.

you cant just look at a shock and say its good.

when your out of your car push up and down on the side that you hear the noise on, if you hear it chances are your shocks are blown.

shocks blow by the selves all the time.
my left rear blew like a month before the right side... and when shocks blow the make noise...

your shock is blown i have been saying it this hole time. when you lowerd your car just that tiny bit it was enough to blow it, and the other side is on its way as well but there is no telling when it will go, or even your fronts.

do you think that the noise will stop soon? cuz i wouldnt mind rolling on blown shocks. its already bumpy enough, so it cant get worse.

nope the noise will not stop, it may even get worse.

by the way yes it can get much worse. when thoses shocks give out, that thing is going to bouch around on even the smallest bump in the rode, youll feel everything.

yeah but nothing bad can really happen right, can anything go loose or something like that, or is just the noise going to keep going?

no, i havent noticed any loose bolts or anything.

its going to keep on going intill you upgrade to some new shocks that can handle the drop
