coil overs vs. lowering springs? help.
ok i got some ebay coil overs which i was gonna put on ( ) but i decided not to.. anyway one of my friends can get me some lowering springs he has them on his cavilier and all the members in the club have them.. they say they are better than coil overs? are lowering springs better? or a better buy for me? they are Gold Line lowering springs i think. thanks for the advice. btw..i can get the springs for like $150 if that has anything to do with the quality i have no clue?

Coil overs are better than lowering springs. height adjustablility is a must on the road course/track.
Your friends are not very helpful and I suggest you look here before doing anything they suggest.
Dampers (shocks) also greatly effect your handling.
You should take the time to research all of your mods before purhcasing....you could end up loosing performance if not.

he makes a valid point though.. i am not planning on adjusting the coil overs. i will buy shocks later on as well. what kind do you recommend?
i do some research on parts..but when i ask nub questions..no one answers my posts oh well..cause im a noob.

Since you'll be lowering your car for looks and seat-of-your-pants handling only, just go with whatever's cheaper, do it correctly and have fun with the results. If you were an autocrosser or a handling junkey, you wouldn't be asking this question in the first place, so do yourself a favor: put the ebay coilovers on, call it a day and don't try to wind your car through the slalom at 100+ mph.
