Coil Over Question. HELPPP
Not sure if this is normal but if it isnt I will try my best describing the issue. If not I will try to take a vid of it later.
I have adjustable coil overs on my civic...dont know what kind they a re but I dont think that really matters.
I put wheels on the car which then required me to raise the car at least an inch for them to sit comfortably. (17s" for sale btw lol)
The car was slammed before...thats how I bought it. Never messed with the coil overs until yesterday.
Ok so I raised the front and everything was smooth and fine. Now I go to raise the back of the driver side and the and whole unit spins when I attempt to adjust the height.
Basically the two locks arent the only thing moving...springs/coil overs everything is spinning while I pull. And for some reason I can litterally take my hand and move the whole unit down at least 3 or more inches from where its suppose to bolt up to the chasis.
My question after this novel is...Is this s*** normal or am I looking at more money coming out my damn pockets to fix this.
Oh and for now while they are on there is degreasing the locks so they adjust easier a bad idea???
Bare with my way of describing the parts. Im just your average oil change/tune up/maintenance kind of guy when it comes to cars. I just know how to drive the hell out of them lol
I would really appreciate any feedback on this before I go hurt the dude who sold me this car. Thank you

Re: Coil Over Question. HELPPP
well you dont want to lube it too much cuz itl come loose and lower by it self.
coilovers are cheap $60 for a set on ebay if you have to.
stick a rench in at thetop to keep it from spinning and then try again

sounds like there are no top hats on the rear so it isnt bolted to the upper strut mount. you need to hold the threaded sleeve still and spin the perch to adjust height

Re: Coil Over Question. HELPPP
I found out that the whole assembly is spinning because there are some slots where your suppose to screw some allen key locks in to keep it in place are empty.
Im just going to lube it a little and use your advice...makes sense to me and should work.
However coil overs 60 bucks???

Re: Coil Over Question. HELPPP
sounds like youre talking about the sleeve. well, if it is...its okay that it spins. just adjust to the height you want and make sure you lock the rings, so it stays at that height.
you probably want to take off the whole setup and put some big o-rings on your shocks, so it acts like a spacer for your sleeve.
